The Napavine girls basketball team poses on the court with the state championship trophy.

The girls basketball team has played in the state championship three times  before this season. The program has never gone through the state tournament in Spokane undefeated. Until now! The girls journey in Spokane started on Wednesday, February 28th with a Round of 12 win over Tonasket 69-38. Thursday was a quarterfinal matchup against Brewster, where the Tigers won 48-46. The semifinal game was versus league foe Adna, where the Tigers won 57-33 to get a spot in the state title game.

The girls faced Okanogan for the state championship and came away with win 41-40. The Tigers were down 38-40 when sophomore Hayden Kaut made a move to shake off an Okanogan defender and sink the game-winning 3-pointer with 16 seconds left in the game. The Tigers defense held on during Okanogan's last possession and grabbed the rebound off a last second 3 pointer. Congratulations to our coaching staff and players on a historic season! 2024 State Champions!
